What
to expect from the trainings at your
Facility:
At Ajara, we believe that thorough training
is the first and most important step to offering these special
techniques in your spa.
We want to make it easy to incorporate our trainings into
your regular spa education, which is why we have laid all of our
trainings out for you.
All you have to do is decide which treatments your spa would
like to offer and we do the rest.
Your therapists will
receive
v
thorough training
in each service
v
basic working
knowledge of Ayurveda and the treatment at hand
v
deep understanding
of how to set up a room for each treatment, including the equipment,
supplies, and clean up required
v
progressive
instruction on each step of the treatment
v
a manual for
future reference
v
a certificate of
completion for each service learned
v
a chance to
observe, practice and receive each treatment
v
the opportunity to
be monitored and evaluated in their progress
Training
Cost
$1400 for the first two days of training, and
$600 for each day beyond that.
Each day will be seven hours with a break at
some time during the day.
We are willing to work with your spa to decide what time the
trainings will work best within your schedule.
Travel
Round trip airfare plus ground
transportation, or 32 cents per mile for travel by automobile. Hotel accommodations
will also be required for any training outside of our immediate
area. If the training is outside of the contiguous US, we may
require one extra hotel night to adjust to the time
change
Food and
Bottled Water
Per Diem up to $50 per day
Materials
Each treatment requires different products,
materials, and equipment for training. Some spas may already have
the equipment necessary; others may need to acquire some of the
needed items. We will
be happy to discuss the best ways to find these objects and
materials, or to procure them for a fee. If Ajara products are
required for a service such as in the Ayurvedic Herbal Facial, these
are provided at the wholesale price. Cost for materials is
dependent on treatment protocol. We can also adapt our
trainings to use products you already stock in your
facility.
Class
size
Our classes are specifically designed to
thoroughly incorporate Ayurvedic Treatments into your facility. Therefore, we suggest
letting your entire staff, including front desk and administrators,
attend the lecture segments of the training. This will ensure that
everyone gains the knowledge to speak intelligently about Ayurveda
and the treatments you will be offering.
Class size for the hands on segments must be
limited due to the intensive nature of the material. Hands on classes can be no
larger than 26 students in order to be effective. We also suggest using front
desk staff and administrators as demonstration and practice
subjects. This helps
them to understand the procedure, outcome, and quality of the
treatment, making them more enthusiastic about suggesting the
treatments to clients.
Class
Room
A room that can be used interchangeably for
both lecture and practical works well for small groups. The room must be large
enough to fit 14 massage tables and convert into a lecture room
with enough chairs or floor cushions for your entire staff. Alternatively, you may have
one room for the hands on segment and a second room for lecture to a
large group. A
accessible restroom should be nearby, as well as a place to wash
equipment. Chairs,
massage tables, linens, a black board, and water must all be
available at your facility.
Students could also bring their own massage tables and linens
if necessary.
